So you're about to graduate from university, or have recently done so, and you've got your heart set on spending some time abroad, and hopefully funding your travels by teaching English in one or more foreign countries. Knowing at least a basic level of the local language in your new town will get you a long way. People truly appreciate your efforts to learn, and you'll find that most will be more than happy to help you along your way as much as they can. Given time, and help from friendly locals, you will get used to the language, and one day you will realise that you got through an entire day without English.
